The artwork, ‘Astray’, aims to represent a loss of identity due to the amount of changes that I have been through which resulted in confusion regarding my identity. The concept is brought out by the hands pulling the individual in different directions showing different and conflicting choices that have to be made, but simultaneously portraying the lack of power the individual feels when deciding who she has to be. I used a faceless subject in order to emphasise on these emotions.
